The Moa is now extinct
Bush Moa
Little bush Moa lived in wet rain forests, and were probably preyed on by both Haast's eagle (south island only) and Elyse harrier. They probably took up to eight years to reach adult size.

Moa likely became extinct sometime between 1440-1445 AD, according to a new study from University of Auckland and Land care Research scientists.
